Frequently asked questions
No. Sign up, set up your workspace, and your configurator is live — all self-serve, no onboarding call required.
Yes. 7-day free trial of the 3D designer, AI assistant, and your branded configurator. Build documents — dimensioned drawings, cut lists, cost breakdowns, build guides, and printing — unlock when you activate your plan. A credit card is required to start the trial, but you can cancel anytime before the trial ends and you won't be charged a penny.
No. The setup wizard walks you through everything. If you can fill out a form and pick some colors, you can set up your configurator. It takes about 15 minutes.
Yes. On Pro you can send deposit, milestone, and final invoices with secure payment links — backed by your own Stripe account, so the money goes straight to you and we don't take a cut. Change orders work the same way: your customer approves and pays online. Payment status is tracked on every job so you know where each deal stands.
Yes. Pro plans can generate a full permit plan set from the same design — cover sheet with general notes, site plan, foundation plan, floor plan, exterior elevations, building section, construction details, braced-wall plan, framing plans, and fastening schedule, plus an electrical plan when the design includes wiring. For supported jurisdictions we include county-specific forms and a filing guide. These are design aids for your submittal — not PE-stamped documents. Permit requirements vary by jurisdiction, so always confirm with your local building department and obtain professional review where required.
Plans are generated design tools, not PE-stamped construction documents. Outputs may contain errors. You are responsible for verifying suitability for your site and local code, and for obtaining professional engineering review where required.
Yes. You can sell any design as a plan set — your customer pays online and gets the drawings, cut list, and materials list for that design. Plan sales are priced by you ($99 minimum) and carry a 20% platform fee ($20 minimum); everything else — your quotes, jobs, and invoices — is commission-free.
Yes, within limits. The engine supports custom dimensions up to 60' long — garages, workshops, and barn-style sheds included — and flags anything that needs attention with built-in engineering warnings (spans, splices, tie requirements). For larger or habitable structures, treat the output as a starting point: plans for anything beyond a standard accessory building should be reviewed by your builder or engineer for local code compliance.
Email support for all plans. Pro plan gets priority response. We’re builders too — we speak your language, not tech jargon.
Yes. Cancel during your trial and you'll never be charged — it takes one click from your billing page. After the trial, monthly plans cancel immediately and annual plans run through the end of the billing year. No contracts, no termination fees.
Most shed software is built for prefab manufacturers and shed dealers — companies that build sheds in a factory and ship them on a truck. Those configurators are for picking options from a catalog, not for producing framing drawings, cut lists, and materials BOMs, because their customers don’t build on-site. If you frame, sheathe, and roof sheds on the customer’s property, ShedBuilder.ai is built for your workflow.
Still have questions? Email us — we’re builders too, not a call center.
