About This Design

A 12×24 open-lattice pergola gives a patio enough length to split into a cooking zone and a separate seating area under one shade structure. It is freestanding — six-by-six posts on a poured pad, no attached wall — with the knee-braced connections and rafter sizing proven by the ADR 027 pergola engineering ruleset.

The longer span calls for the same rigorous post-to-beam load path as our smaller plans, just carried over more bays, so the cut list and BOM scale with the footprint instead of guessing at it.

It is not a stamped design: a higher wind zone, an open or coastal site, or a jurisdiction that asks for sealed drawings needs a local engineer to review it.
